C.A.N. @Venice
Work: Exhibition & Editorial Design
Year: 2014
C.A.N. @Venice, initiated by SpamALL™, designed and supervised by Max Office, took place in the China Pavilion at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennial Exhibition on September 10, 2014. I took part in this project when I was an intern at Max Office.
The exhibition reviewed the concept of 'Fundamentality' put forward by Rem Koolhaas, the chief curator of the biennial exhibition, and took a new look at the 100-year history of agriculture in China, vehemently criticizing the destruction of modernity on the agricultural (rural) civilization. At the same time, through the projects organized and initiated by Qingyun Ma, the concept, research, and practical achievements related to how to fundamentally reverse the crises facing C.A.N. (Culture, Agriculture, Nature) were explored.

C.A.N.– A Project of Agri-urbanism is an important part of the exhibition. Jointly published by Qingyun Ma and Shoupin Zhang, it is a reflection of C.A.N., its practice and its new conception.
This book can be rated as a research report while the content of the book is presented based on research data. People of different disciplines (design, architecture, history, urbanology) from a number of colleges and universities in China (I was part of this group too) and in America. With the completion of the research, my work shifted from editing to design.
