The Art Deco movement of the 20th century had a profound and far-reaching impact, and it holds significant weight in the collection of the V&A museum. Simultaneously, The Beast's birthplace, Shanghai, represents an important aspect of the DNA of this most Westernized city in the East. Collaborating with the V&A on the "Modern Times" series, as a designer for this collection, I drew inspiration from the decorative arts collection (including travel posters, fashion illustrations, and a musical score) at the V&A, capturing the luxurious and modern aspects of the Art Deco movement.
